Bob Elmer Tuomi

TUOMI - Bob, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday August 14, 2016 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Margaret and dear father of Terri Lee (Ross) Crispo, and grandfather of Chanelle and Sierra. Bob will be sadly missed by his brother Bill (Lynn) Tuomi, sisters in law Mary Lynn McQuarrie, Lynda (Paul) Flanagan, nephew Ronald (Mickey) McQuarrie, nieces Jennifer (Vince) Potter, Amanda (Denis) Mwangi, Ashley Flanagan (Jason), Stephanie Flanagan (Jared), Katherine McQuarrie, great nieces Keanna, Malaika and Zuri. Predeceased by his parents George and Sylvia (Peltonen) Tuomi, brother in law Donald McQuarrie, and niece Robyn Tuomi. In 1995, Bob retired from Bell Canada after 31 years of service. He loved the outdoor life, golfing, fishing, hunting, video photography, the Blue Jays, soccer, traveling and wine making. Bob wrote many articles for the local papers and magazines on hunting, fishing and traveling. He took great pride in developing and maintaining his golf course property. He had a love-hate relationship with gardening. Bob always had an open door policy to new and old friends and thoroughly enjoyed continually teasing his nieces and nephew. A memorial service will be held at the Gore Bay Community Hall, Meredith St. on Friday August 19, 2016 at 11 am. Interment Gordon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy and may be made through www.simpsonfuneralhome.ca
