Charles passed away suddenly at his home
on Monday, January 12, 2026. 

Born to the late Charlie Sr. Wabegijik and Marjorie Sagon.

Missed by his beloved cat Poncho.

Loved by his siblings Max, Candy, Naangoons and Melissa (predeceased). 

Number #1 fan and Dad of Anthony Wabegijik.

Proud uncle of Felicia, Mannie, Kaydence and Makayla.

Number 1 fan to Dominic. 

Will be missed by his best friend Alex, his right hand man. 

Charles loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Lions and the Bills. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. Charles loved working in his community. When he was not working he could be found riding around on his beloved Harley Davidson. He loved playing baseball and was quite the player in his prime. He played for the Sheshegwaning Braves and had a powerful swing to hit many homeruns.

For over 20 years Charles dedicated himself to a variety of roles in Sheshegwaning First Nation. Charles worked in a number of departments including Lands, Finance, Health and Economic Development.

Most recently, Charles took on the role of Special Projects Coordinator for the Leadership Centre and the new school. 
In this role, Charles provided day-to-day operational support to Prosperi workers. Charles had immense pride in these projects and the impact they will have on his community, as well as a special comradery with his workers of Prosperi.

at the Sheshegwaning First Nation Community Centre 
Visitation on Saturday, January 24, 2026
Private for family from 7pm, public from 8pm.
Pipe Ceremony on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 4pm.
Funeral service on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 1pm.
Burial to follow in the Sheshegwaning Cemetery. 
Following the burial there will be community potluck feast.
