Catherine Christine Endanawas
March 3, 1947 – April 18, 2026
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine Christine Endanawas on Saturday, April 18, 2026, who passed away at the age of 79 at the Manitoulin Health Centre in Little Current, surrounded by her family.
Christine was born in Sheshegwaning, and was the beloved daughter of the late Adam and Clara Endanawas.
She was a devoted partner to Barry Morton (“Daddy Barry”) for 15 years.
Loving mother of Kelly, Francis (wife Keri), and Joyce Endanawas and is predeceased by her daughter Joanne.
Proud and loving grandmother of Curtis, Briana, Courtney, and Ethan.
Christine is survived by her dear sisters Martha (Jim) and Cecilia (Harold predeceased)
and predeceased by her siblings Jonas, Helen, Evelyn, Lillian, Joseph, David, Francis, Clement, Thomas, Sophia, and Daniel.
Special sister-in-law of Maryann.
Cherished aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She held a very special place in the hearts of Alana and Beverly, who knew her as a “Grandma.”
Special Godmother to Christopher Endanawas.
Christine had a passion for working with children and dedicated many years as a teacher’s assistant at St. Joseph’s Anishinabek School in Sheshegwaning. She furthered her education at Nipissing University, earning her Native Language Education certification and later attended Lakehead University to obtain her Teacher’s Assistant certification. She cared deeply for the wellness of her community and served on numerous committees within Sheshegwaning First Nation.
Christine was also a devoted church steward at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Family was the center of Christine’s life and her greatest joy. She loved dancing, singing, clogging, karaoke, country music, and crafts. She especially treasured celebrating birthdays and preparing meals for her loved ones. Christine had a beautiful way of lighting up every room with her energy and her contagious smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family and friends.

Open to everyone at 7pm
