Eileen Pearson Obituary

In Loving Memory of
Eileen Katie Pearson (nee McMurray)
April 2, 1945 - January 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Pearson (nee McMurray) at the Mindemoya Hospital on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the age of 80, surrounded by her children.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Alvin Pearson.

Dear daughter of William "Bill" and Katie (nee Blue) McMurray (both predeceased).

Cherished mother of Nancy Marinier (husband Charles) and Stephen Pearson (wife Connie).

World's best grandma to her five grandchildren, Carter (predeceased), Criss, Macy, Logan and Maxwell.

Adored by her great granddaughter Emmeline (Mother Megan).

Loving sister of Doug (Lestie predeceased) McMurray, Bev (Sandra) McMurray (both predeceased), Shirley (Lyle) Pyette, Art (predeceased) (Marg) McMurray and Donnie (predeceased) (Joan), McMurray.
Loved sister-in-law of Loretta (Harold) Glanville (both predeceased).

She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eileen grew up in Tehkummah, at a time when her and her siblings had to walk uphill both ways to and from their one room schoolhouse. Her brothers were known to play pranks on her on a regular basis, not just when she was younger, but even after they were grown. Many tales can be told of the jokes they tried to pull on dear Eileen, but she was always a good sport and took their pranking with many laughs. Eileen was always known for her ready smile and infectious sense of humour. She was adored by her grandchildren and took great pride in them along with her great granddaughter. Eileen could usually be found in her kitchen where she loved to cook and bake while having a cup of tea at her side. She catered many weddings and celebrations. She also babysat many kids in Mindemoya and was loved by them all. One great achievement was her work for the OPP where she retired after 20 years of service. Eileen was well loved at the Manitoulin Lodge in Gore Bay where she resided for the last 4 years. She will be very missed by her family and her community.

Cremation has taken place.
At Eileen's request, there will be no service.
Memorial donations may be made in Eileen's honour to the Mindemoya Hospital.
