Helen Patricia Gordon

GORDON - Helen, of Gore Bay, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday September 27, 2016 in her 86th year. She will be sadly missed by her children Scott (Diane) of Lac La Biche, AB, Lynn Fraser (Randy) of Sherwood Park, AB Laurie Bartlett (Stephen) of Terrace, B.C. and her brother Leonard Purvis. Loving Grandma of Sara, Heather, Rae, Don, Christine and Jeff. Great Grandma of Ashley, Aurora, Issy, Colwyn, Kade, Kaitlyn, Jax, Sammy, Stevie, Mackie, Charlotte, River and Rush. Helen will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Doug (Feb. 19, 2016), parents Leonard and Mildred (Kemp) Purvis, brothers Ken Purvis, Charlie Purvis and sister Mildred Major. Helen enjoyed family get-togethers particularly their outdoor adventures at the camp and playing host to visiting family in Gore Bay. A talented artist, she created many pieces that will be enjoyed by generations to come. As per Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 29, 2016 at Lyons Memorial United Church at 11:00 am. Interment Gordon Cemetery.
