John Tsun

It is with sorrow that the family of John Tsun announces his passing on Thursday October 19, 2017. John was an intelligent and curious man who was interested in a wide range of subjects. His strong faith helped him overcome many obstacles, including losing his parents at a very young age. At the age of 22, he married the love of his life, Solange, raised a large family and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Before he married, he acquired his pilot's license. He studied part time at the University of Toronto and earned his BA in Psychology in 1969. He loved nature and was particularly fond of cats. John is survived by his children Yvonne Mark (Joe), Laurette Tsun, Alina Tsun, Holly Haggarty (Jack), Jasmine Phillips, August (Tina) Tsun, Josh (Maria) Tsun, Wendell Tsun, and his grandchildren: Sonja , Anita, Guinevere, Robert, Erin, Nicholson, Suzanna, Valaire, Ariel, Cameron, Justin, Brandon, Alejandro, Daphne, Leon, Moira, Alice, John-Aimé, René, Elena, Calvin, Linden, Charlotte, Camilla, brother Owen "Peter" (Mickey) Grimbly and son in law Taisto Kauppinen as well as many great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Solange (2017), 7 brothers and sisters, parents, and his children Gary, Cynthia and John-Aimé. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 26, 2017 at the Meldrum Bay Community Hall from 12 noon - 2pm, where the funeral mass will be held at 2 pm. Interment Meldrum Bay Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Covenant House - Toronto or the Right to Life Coalition as expressions of sympathy and may be made through www.simpsonfuneralhome.ca
