In loving memory Keith Allan Montgomery September 14, 1928 - January 29, 2016
Keith Allan Montgomery, a proud resident of Barrie Island his entire life, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday January 29, 2016 in his 88th year. He was the son of the late Samuel Allan and Lyla Jane (Noble) Montgomery. He was predeceased by his loving wife Lenora (Noland) in 2007. Beloved father of Ken (Jean predeceased), Murray and Brad (Ruth). Keith will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Leslie, Melissa (Rich), Erin, Marcy, David, Jenna, Ian, Emily and his nephew Les, as well as Jean's daughters, Heather (Darlene), Hollie (Allan) and Peggy (John). Dear brother of the late Lorna Noland and uncle of the late Allan Noland.
Dad has left us with countless pleasant memories after a well-lived long life. Appreciated for his honesty and hard work, and well liked for his good nature and humour, Keith enjoyed many lasting friendships. His door was always open and his table always shared! No one left without a warm chat, a bit of news or advice, a weather forecast and an offering from his garden. He respected the land and nature and enjoyed his careers in farming and construction.
At Keith's request, there will be no funeral at this time. All family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at Gordon Cemetery in the spring. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Western Manitoulin Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy. Condolences may be shared through the SIMPSON FUNERAL HOME, Gore Bay. www.simpsonfuneralhome.ca
