May 17, 1929 - June 6, 2024

Marg passed away on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor in Little Current.

She was born in Craigleith, Ontario, and was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary Elizabeth Campbell and her eight siblings and their spouses.

The youngest of nine children she heard many stories of Manitoulin Island where her grandparents had homesteaded. In 1949 she visited the island where she met Alex Witty, who would become her future husband.
Alex and Marg’s home in Gordon Township was one farm length from the property her grandparents, Emma and James Gillespie had homesteaded. Marg was a very active member of her community becoming involved in the 4-H Women’s Institute, Gordon and Gore Bay United Church, Quilters and Artists Guilds, Palliative Care and The Red Hats Society. She was a charter Member of The Order of the Eastern Star Gore Bay, celebrating 70 years of membership.
Returning to school in later years, Marg trained and graduated as a Registered Nurse and enjoyed many years in nursing.

Loved wife of Alex Witty (predeceased 2006).

Mother to Nancy (John) Woestenenk, Margie (Bruce) Graham and Raymond (predeceased 2019).

Grandmother to Dirk (Teresa) Woestenenk, Kevin (Leeanne) Woestenenk, Jamie (Melissa) Graham, Clinton (Reiko) Graham, Amanda (Matthew) Witty.

Great Grandmother to Ethan (predeceased), Connor and Hannah Woestenenk, Kaydi and Maisie Graham, Alex (Jessie), Dani (Steven) Woestenenk and Megan (Mathew) Mader.

Great great grandmother to Macsen and Myles Mader.

Marg is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Rhea Woods and was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-laws, Jean and Burl Morrell, Harry and Stella Witty and Marv Woods.

Cremation has taken place and as per Marg’s wishes an Eastern Star and graveside service will take place at a later date.
