In Loving Memory of
Valinda Elizabeth Fogal (Dearing/Sloss)
November 30th, 1951 - July 24th, 2024
Valinda passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North with her beloved Mikey at her side.
Nothing was more important to her than her family and she fought hard to be with them for as long as possible.
Valinda is predeceased by her parents
Herb and Georgina Dearing
and brothers Harvey and Sammy.
Dearly missed by her husband Mike Fogal,
her sister Greta Lane (Ron),
her children Greta Dearing, Tyler Sloss (Samantha),
Brittany Sloss and Bryce Fogal,
her grandchildren Rebecca, Hendrik, Ronnie and Holden,
as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces
and great nephews.
Valinda had a huge heart and is well known for caring for and feeding anybody who visited the farm. If you happened to be there for a birthday you were guaranteed a slice of money cake.
She was instrumental in bringing cable television services to Gore Bay and in securing a dedicated hospice care suite at the Mindemoya Hospital. She managed Evergreen Cottages in Ice Lake and organized an extensive family trip to Florida before the internet existed. She was amazing.
There will be a graveside service
at Gordon Cemetery
on Thursday, August 1st, 2024
at 1:00pm.
A reception will follow at the Gordon Community Hall.
